Review : Eam Huat Restaurant
Eam Huat is the kind of place where regular folks go to celebrate grandma’s birthdays. It has air-cond, peanuts, pop-pop cold towel and good and fresh foods. It is not posh but neither dinghy. Therefore, we do visit on and off on weekends.

Menu depends on what is fresh and available so I would say that we hardly eat the same thing over and over again because they cook according to the ‘flavours of the day’. The above is a plate of the crunchiest, sweetest, yummy baby french beans with sole fish and mushrooms. Other notable dishes from them are their crispy duck (not always available) and prawn salad.

We wanted something with gravy and they recommended this plate of stewed pork (ewwss look at those sinful fats! which have been scrapped aside, of course) with peanuts. If you visit, do ask them what is their ‘pre-cooked’ dishes because they have different varieties each day.

Our regular meals must include plate of tofu which the kids like. This is crabmeat tofu. We had a few other dishes but after these three plates, I have no more time to take photos. Their belacan fried chicken is tasty too with very strong fragrance of belacan and crispy skins.
Eam Huat is located in Jelutong, before Sunshine Jelutong. It is along one of those small industries shoplots, looking rather neglected on weekends because the shops there are closed except for Eam Huat.

Those pics make me drool! I am sure any granny would like eating there…as long as they don’t mind the fatty bits

ohh, how i love your Penang Food Haven blog. I was a regular there together with my family and it’s one of the only restaurants i can find fried egg with oyster, hahaha. It’s very difficult to get parking there nowadays and also a snatch thief almost struck my mom the last time we went there.

The food in Eam Huat is good. Like what Jason said, the problem is the parking. Luckly I’m staying nearby which Eam Huat is just a walking distance. Good place to try.
