English Roasted Pork sandwich

Anyone can make a decent sandwich. It is probably the most versatile food because there is no restriction to what you can create. And if the sandwich is to be taken as a main meal, then, one can even load more things into it for that extra bite.
I think the most important component of a sandwich is the bread. If the bread is good, it can get away with very little fillings in between. If the bread is lousy, as in white, yeasty, sourish smell bread, then it sort of lost its points even if we filled it with the most expensive fillings.

Sandwiches from restaurants can be costly and sometimes it may costs as much as RM10. So, I like to make my own because I can control what goes in there. After all, I don’t like paying for greasy french fries that usually accompanies the sandwiches.
Today, I assembled mine with:
Slice tomatoes
Purple cabbage with a bit of salad oil which I made
English roasted pork (bought from deli)
Garlic cream cheese to smother on the bread
Two slices of wholemeal bread
and some mayonnaise to give it that extra smooth and zing.

Fattening? Not really. It is a lot healthier than a plate of rice with dishes, no?

It’s 2:30am and I’m suddenly hungry. Could be your fault but I chose to visit your page so I guess it’s mine. I’m with Alex about the beet root.

Ooo..yummy. My SIL says that the best bread for making sandwiches are from the Four Leaves bakery. But i rarely go to town so can’t comment if it is good.

hey you guys,
this is where I have the advantage over you - the best roast pork sandwich is here in the west Midlands in the UK. No mayo but apple sauce and gravy from the roast pork with stuffing- it costs about £2.50 (how much exchange rate now? about 15 ringgit? so not cheap in comparison but its an okay deal here..think of it as MYR 2.50 ) its yummie! It comes in a bun or baguette.
